These three panels were originally part of Close Knit, an outdoor pavilion installed on the frozen surface of Art Shanty Projects in Minneapolis. Set against the wide white of the lake, the structure became both shelter and gathering place where visitors were invited to sit at rigid heddle looms and weave alongside one another.

I wove these panels in wool, integrating hand dyed basketry reed in tones of pink, violet, and ochre. The pattern is a blown out interpretation of a traditional overshot flower, something that reads clearly from a distance but softens into texture, color, and small gestures up close.

Over the course of the exhibition, the sun and winter weather slowly faded the surface. This was intentional. The panels hold that exposure now, a record of time spent on the ice, of light, use, and community. Each piece stands on its own as a wall mounted textile, carrying both the memory of a shared structure and the quiet intimacy of cloth.
