A collaboration between myself and Tara Jensen of Smoke Signals bakery. Our intention was to create a community dinner event which allowed us the opportunity to share both of our passions for the work we do: Tara's bread and Amber's textiles.
The event began in Amber's studio at the Marshall High Studios where attendees had a rare opportunity to view both her finished and work in progress with the hope of creating conversations about the history, technique and passion for handweaving. Attendees then moved outside to engage in a cornucopia or tasty delights which Tara created. While friends, both new and old shared tables and picnic blankets the conversation over community and craft was extended.
The night concluded with a puppetry performance by our good friends "West of Roan". Both Annie and Channing sang a Scandinavian weaving ballad and performed using layers of interactive digital display as well as hand built and operated marionette puppets.
