Born and raised in the Midwest, Amber Jensen has devoted the last 10 years to understanding and working with textiles. In recent years she has traveled and lived in other parts of the world learning more about our connection to land, people and a reverence for her chosen craft. She currently lives and works in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Her studio is in an old high school on an island that overlooks the French Broad River. Hand-weaving as well as many other crafts have deep roots that permeate the rugged smoky mountains that surround. Each day she walks down the mountain from her house to put in an honest days work at both her loom and sewing machine.  Amber believes in hard work.
